ELDER KORDELL SIMS, SR.

Elder Kordell Sims, Sr. is the Founder and Senior Pastor of New Foundation Church Gulf Coast (NFCGC). Pastor Sims has over 23 years in Pastoral Ministry Experience. He is a dynamic preacher, visionary leader, and devoted servant of Jesus Christ. Known for Spirit-filled preaching and transformational leadership, he has helped revitalize congregations, strengthen youth ministries, and expand community outreach across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Elder Sims answered the call to ministry at the age of 15 under the leadership of Rev. Haywood Hannah at Galilee Treadwell United Methodist Church in Lexington, Mississippi. Since that time, he has dedicated his life to proclaiming the Gospel, equipping leaders, and empowering the church to impact both spiritual and community life.

Elder Sims is married to the lovely, talented and spiritually gifted Pastor DeNondrea Sims who serves as the Associate Pastor of NFCGC. This duo is affectionately known and highly recruited for tag-team preaching. They are the proud parents of their son, Kordell Sims, Jr. and daughter, Kolby Sims.

Elder Sims earned his Bachelor of Science from THE Jackson State University in Physical Education & Recreation Administration. He later earned a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary. Pastor Sims is active in both his church and community. He has served as Vice President – Black Methodists for Church Renewal (BMCR), National Board Member – BMCR, Southeast Jurisdiction Board Member – BMCR, Advisory Board Member – Port of Gulfport, Advisory Board Member – Salvation Army, Board Member – Gulfport Griots Society, Member – Biloxi NAACP, Member – Biloxi Bay Chamber of Commerce and Member – Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

Elder Sims founded NFCGC in 2026 to continue his calling by God to serve the community by teaching and preaching the Word of God, to help facilitate saving souls, restoring families, healing broken hearts, raising up leaders, strengthening marriages, empowering youth, equipping disciples and transforming communities all to help further expand God’s Kingdom. It is his desire that God continue to use him and NFCGC as a beacon of hope throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Beyond.
